Terms and Conditions

Hire - The hire of this apartment is on a nightly basis with a minimum stay of 3 nights. Check in is between 16.00 - 22.00, departure is 10.00am. Guests are respecfully asked to observe these times.

Occupancy -The letting of the property is only to those named on the booking form. Strictly two persons only can be accommodated. Sub-letting of the property is strictly prohibited. There is parking space for one vehicle only.

Liability - The use of the apartment and its equipment is entirely at the hirer's risk and no responsibility can be accepted by the owners for death or injury to the hirer or a member of his or her party or for loss or damage to their belongings, including motor vehicles while on the premises. We strongly advise that you take out your own holiday insurance. As we are a working croft, at lambing time there may be the occasional comings and goings during the night, any disturbance will be kept to a minimum. No liability will be accepted for disturbance during your stay.

Booking and Payment - A firm booking is accepted following confirmation of availability and receipt of a deposit of £100, full balance will be due 4 weeks prior to the start date of the booking. For bookings made less than 4 weeks in advance, full payment is required at time of booking. Payment methods are cheques, drawn on a UK bank account, cash, paypal or internet bank transfer. Security Deposit - A security deposit of £50 is required at the time of booking. This is against damage, breakages, additional cleaning or breach of our terms and conditions. The deposit is refundable 10 days after check out subject to the property being inspected by the owners. If the deposit is not refunded the hirer will be informed by email as to the reason. Any deposits refunded via paypal will have the transaction charge deducted from the deposit, any deposits refunded to an overseas bank account will have the banking fees deducted from the deposit.

Cancellations - In the event of customer cancellation, the deposit is not refundable unless the property can be re-let during the said period. Once the balance has been paid the the balance is refundable less a £25 admin/ banking charge, but not the deposit. If the property can be re-let for the original dates the deposit will be refunded less £25 admin/banking charge. In the unlikely event of the proprietors cancelling the booking, a full refund of payment will be made and the hirer will have no further claim against the owner. In the event of a no show the balance and the deposit will be forfeited.

Services - Electricity, heating, logs, bed linen and towels are included in the tariffs quoted. Free Wi-Fi access is also included (however we cannot accept any responsibility if this free service is unavailable). As we are in a rural location and internet running speeds can be slow at times, this is beyond our control.

Children - We regret we cannot accommodate children or babies under any circumstances.

Age Limit - Guests must be over the age of 21 when the booking commences.

Pets - We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.

Smoking - Strictly no smoking in The Snug or anywhere on the premises. Anyone smoking, or suspected of smoking in The Snug or on the premises will be asked to leave without refund and shall forfeit their security deposit.

Exclusions - Candles are not permitted to be used in the Snug under any circumstances. The use of hair dying/colouring and body tanning products is strictly prohibited. Anyone found to have used any of these items will forfeit their £50 security deposit.

Drugs - The use of any illegal substances is forbidden, anyone found or suspected of using illegal substances will be asked to leave immediately without refund and will forfeit the £50 security deposit. In addition the local police will be informed.

Right of Entry – We, the owners, reserve the right to enter the property at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or to carry out necessary repairs or maintenance.

Care of the Property - The named hirer is responsible for maintaining the property, furniture, fixtures and fittings to the standard in which the property was hired. Any damage sustained to the above mentioned will result in payment from the named hirer for costs of repairs or cleaning. Please advise us of any damages that should occur during your stay. Replacement items will be charged at cost. We would appreciate if you could leave the property as you find it.

The Contract - The contract is between the Hirer and the owners of The Snug, Mr. and Mrs. P Harris
